What is Slack? How do I accept a Slack invite, and how does Slack work?

Posted in Website Design / Slack

In this video 3min video, I'll give you a quick introduction to Slack and show you exactly what to do when you get invited to join a Slack workspace.

What is Slack?

Slack is a communication platform used by companies and teams to centralize their internal and external communication.

Slack is essentially a hub where your team and clients can chat about projects, share files, ideas, and more. Slack allows you to create a "workspace" for your company, as we have done for Squareflo.

Inside each workspace, you'll find private & public channels. Channels can be compared to message "groups" in Whatsapp or any other messaging platform. Once you are added or invited to join a channel you can post messages, respond to messages posted by others, share files, and code within the channel. Only users with access to a private channel can view and participate.

Slack allows teams and organizations to rely far less on email to discuss projects.

At Squareflo we have started transitioning our communication with clients to Slack. Our team members all have slack installed on their devices, allowing them to get notified when clients post questions, comments, or files.
